Profil Motivasi Atlet pada Siswa Ekstrakurikuler Sepak Bola SDN 2 Citalang Kabupaten Purwakarta

Motivation is a key psychological factor that drives athletes to perform consistently and achieve optimal results. This study aims to describe the motivation profile of students participating in football extracurricular activities at SDN 2 Citalang, Purwakarta Regency. A quantitative descriptive survey method was employed with a total sampling of 25 student-athletes. The research instrument was a motivation questionnaire consisting of 30 items across three indicators: intrinsic motivation (items 1–10), extrinsic motivation (items 11–20), and training commitment (items 21–30), measured using a Likert scale. Validity was confirmed and reliability was tested using Cronbach's Alpha. Results show: intrinsic motivation mean = 4.2 (High category), extrinsic motivation mean = 3.8 (Moderate), and training commitment mean = 3.5 (Moderate). The overall mean total score was 109.6 (SD = 14.8), categorised as High. Category distribution: 4 students (16%) Very High, 10 students (40%) High, 8 students (32%) Moderate, 2 students (8%) Low, and 1 student (4%) Very Low. Intrinsic motivation is the dominant driver, while training commitment requires targeted improvement through structured coaching programme.
Motivasi merupakan faktor psikologis utama yang mendorong atlet untuk berlatih secara konsisten dan mencapai prestasi yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil motivasi atlet pada siswa ekstrakurikuler sepak bola SDN 2 Citalang Kabupaten Purwakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik total sampling sebanyak 25 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket motivasi yang terdiri dari 30 butir pernyataan yang mencakup tiga indikator: motivasi intrinsik (butir 1–10), motivasi eksternal (butir 11–20), dan komitmen latihan (butir 21–30), diukur menggunakan skala Likert. Validitas instrumen telah diuji dan reliabilitas diuji menggunakan Cronbach's Alpha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: rerata motivasi intrinsik = 4,2 (kategori Tinggi), motivasi eksternal = 3,8 (Sedang), dan komitmen latihan = 3,5 (Sedang). Rerata total skor keseluruhan adalah 109,6 (SD = 14,8), termasuk dalam kategori Tinggi. Distribusi kategori: 4 siswa (16%) Sangat Tinggi, 10 siswa (40%) Tinggi, 8 siswa (32%) Sedang, 2 siswa (8%) Rendah, dan 1 siswa (4%) Sangat Rendah. Motivasi intrinsik menjadi pendorong yang paling dominan, sedangkan komitmen latihan perlu mendapat perhatian lebih melalui program pembinaan yang terstruktur.
