Peran Pengawasan BPD terhadap Kinerja Perangkat Desa di Desa Gemilang Jaya

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the supervisory role of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) on the performance of village officials in Gemilang Jaya Village, Batang Tuaka District, Indragiri HilirRegency. BPD supervision is an important aspect in ensuring transparent, accountable, and effective village governance. This research uses a qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of the supervisory practices carried out by BPD toward the performance of village officials. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants were selected using purposive sampling consisting of village government officials, BPD members, and representatives of villagecommunity institutions. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The results show that BPD has carried out its supervisory function through involvement in village program planning, monitoring the implementation of government activities, and evaluating development and community service programs. This supervision contributes to improving the performance of village officials, particularly in implementing development programs and providing administrative services to the community. However, several obstacles were identified, including limited work discipline, administrative capacity, and coordination between BPD and the village government. Therefore, strengthening capacity and coordination between BPD and the village government is necessary to improve the effectiveness of supervisory functions in supporting better village governance
